Kemasukan Pelaburan Korea Selatan Positif

Pelaburan syarikat Korea Selatan di Malaysia dijangka terus mencatatkan pertumbuhan positif pada masa depan susulan meningkatnya hubungan dua hala antara kedua-dua negara, khususnya dalam perdagangan dan pelaburan.

Sebelum ini, Korea Selatan adalah pelabur asing ketujuh terbesar di Malaysia. Namun tahun lalu, ia muncul kedua terbesar dengan pelaburan diluluskan berjumlah AS$1.6 bilion (kira-kira RM5 bilion.

Pelaburan tahun lalu itu adalah 2,400 peratus lebih tinggi berbanding pada 2010 da ia terutama membabitkan sektor elektronik dan elektrik (E&E), peralatan pengangkutan, produk asas keluli dan produk keluli.

Menteri Perdagangan Antarabangsa dan Industri, Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, berkata perkembangan positif itu antara lain disumbangkan beberapa siri lawatan pemimpin tertinggi negara ke republik itu dalam tempoh tiga tahun lalu.

Katanya, ini termasuk lawatan Yang di-Pertuan Agong; Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Razak, Timbalan Perdana Menteri Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin dan menteri Kabinet, selain beberapa misi perdagangan dan pelaburan.

“Lawatan pemimpin tertinggi kita itu kemudian disusuli pula lawatan pemimpin Korea Selatan ke Malaysia yang turut disertai ahli perniagaan, sekali gus membolehkan mereka meninjau peluang pelaburan di Malaysia.

“Aliran pertumbuhan positif itu juga disumbangkan iklim pelaburan kondusif di Malaysia, termasuk kestabilan politik dan ekonomi serta kemudahan prasarana untuk masyarakat pelabur,” katanya kepada media Malaysia di ibu negara Korea Selatan itu semalam.

Meterai MoU Kerjasama

Mustapa tiba di sini awal pagi semalam bagi mengetuai misi perdagangan dan pelaburan Malaysia ke negara itu.

Selain menyampaikan ucaptama pada Seminar Peluang Pelaburan di Malaysia anjuran Lembaga Kemajuan Perindustrian Malaysia (MIDA), beliau turut memeterai Memorandum Persefahaman (MoU) Kerjasama Perindustrian antara Kementerian Perdagangan Antarabangsa dan Industri Malaysia dan Kementerian Ekonomi Korea.

Mustapa turut mengadakan pertemuan dengan Presiden Asia Cement, Ko Kyu-Hwan; Presiden dan Ketua Eksekutif (CEO) ELPION, Kim In-Wong; Pengerusi Kumpulan Lotte, Shin Dong-Bin dan CEO Honam Petrochemical, Huh Soo-Young.

Ramai Usahawan Berminat

Mengulas mengenai seminar itu, Mustapa berkata, kira-kira 250 ahli perniagaan Korea Selatan yang mewakili pelbagai sektor menyertainya dan ramai bertanyakan soalan mengenai peluang perniagaan yang ada di Malaysia.
