SINTOK, June 9 (Bernama) -- The International Trade and Industry Minister is ready to consider the proposed setting up of a trade centre in Jerlun to boost import and export activities between Malaysia and Thailand. Deputy Minister Datuk Mukhriz Tun Mahathir said the ministry had plans a trade centre in the northern area to facilitate imports and exports with Thailand but it needed details before implementing it. The proposal to open the Jerlun Trade Centre (JTC) would be considered, he said. "When everything has been looked into, I will help draw the comprehensive proposal taking into account all aspects so that what we want to do will be realised," he told reporters after opening the Jerlun Economic Discussion here Saturday. Koperasi Pemaju Jerlun Bhd Protem Committee Chairman Izhar Azimat said the JTC would collect products from Jerlun before they went to market. -- BERNAMA
