MIDF To Lend More To Services Sector

KOTA KINABALU: Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Bhd (MIDF) expects its loan exposure to the services sector to increase in the coming months, from 30 per cent currently.
Group managing director Datuk Mohd Najib Abdullah said this in line with the government's aim to make the services sector a robust industry in the future.
"Right now, we give almost 70 to 80 per cent of our loans to the manufacturing sector but we plan to balance the loans evenly between the manufacturing and the services sector by next year," he said on the sidelines of the Minggu Saham Amanah Malaysia here on Monday.
The sector now receives between 20 and 30 per cent of MIDF loan.
