YB Dato' Sri Mustapa Mohamed, Minister of International Trade and Industry, will be on a working visit to Oman and Qatar from 29 April to 1 May 2012 in conjunction with “1Malaysia Promotion” in Muscat, Oman and Malaysia Services Exhibition (MSE) 2012 in Doha, Qatar.

YB Minister of International Trade and Industry is scheduled to launch the “1Malaysia Promotion” in Oman and to officiate the MSE 2012 in Qatar.

The 1Malaysia Promotion to Oman is the first event of its kind to be organised by Malaysia to comprehensively showcase and promote Malaysian products and services overseas.The “1Malaysia Promotion” Oman aim to present the multi-faceted of Malaysian economic sectors, promote Malaysia's products and services and to explore opportunities for collaboration and joint ventures with Oman. A total of 9 Government Agencies (MATRADE, MIDA, MDEC, Ministry of Health, Tourism Malaysia, Education Malaysia, MPI, CIDB and HDC) and 30 Malaysian companies from various sector such as Food and Beverages, Biotechnology, Consumer, Furniture, Petrochemical, Healthcare and Property and Construction are participating the event.

The MSE 2012, Doha, Qatar is held concurrently with the Project Qatar: 9 th International Construction, Building, Environmental Technology and Materials Exhibition held from 30 th April – 3 May 2012. MSE has become one of Malaysia's important events for promoting Malaysian services and products after its inception in 2008. The past series of MSEs was held in Sharjah (2008), Dubai (2009 and 2010) and Abu Dhabi (2011).There will be 59 companies from Malaysia that will be participating in this event. Other sectors that Malaysian companies are interested to collaborate includes architectural services, landscaping services, infrastructure development and road maintenance.

During the Seminar on “Malaysia-Oman Business Opportunities in Malaysia” in Oman, YB Minister of International Trade and Industry will highlight the trade and investment opportunities in Malaysia as well as initiatives to further strengthen bilateral trade and investment relations.

The Minister of International Trade and Industry will take the opportunity of the working visit to meet his counterparts and other Ministers from Oman and Qatar to exchange views and discuss ways to enhance bilateral trade relations.
