AP (Approval Permit) issued by MITI is required by the Malaysian Royal Customs Department to release products based on the Customs Act 1967. What products are categorised as iron and steel products which require AP from MITI? The types of iron and steel products that require AP are plate, pipes, Galvanised Iron (GI) and Electrolytic Galvanised Iron (EG). For export, the types of iron and steel products which require AP are steel and scrap metal. To obtain the correct Tariff Codes, companies are advised to contact the Royal Malaysian Customs Department or visit their website at www.customs.gov.my.
