Monitor and evaluate economic developments, policies and procedures on trade and investment, that could impact Malaysia's economic interests, and report to Headquarters, relevant ministries / agencies as well as private sector organisations in Malaysia.

Monitor,  evaluate and report  performance of multilateral trade and investments abroad.

Report to Headquarters the trade measures taken by other countries that could affect Malaysia's trade interests such as anti-dumping actions, "countervailing" and "safeguard measures".

Monitor and report the introduction and amendments of trade laws, regulations and procedures as well as trade sanctions by the  governments abroad.

Provide response to trade/ investment issues.

Promote and assist Malaysian companies to undertake cross-border investments, provide information and advice on relevant incentives, rules and regulations.

Strengthen professional networking with government officials, private organisations, economic bodies and other foreign embassies/ high commissions, international and regional organisations as well as media abroad.

Promote and facilitate trade and multilateral negotiations between Malaysia and countries abroad. Promotional activities include managing official trade and investment missions, visits by private sector and participation in trade fairs, seminars on economy, trade as well as investment.

Manage and facilitate overseas Working / Official Visit of MITI Minister as well as officials. Assist the Malaysian embassy/ high commission abroad to facilitate Working Visits of SPB YDP Agong, YAB Prime Minister, YAB Deputy Prime Minister as well as other Malaysian Cabinet Ministers.
