DUTY DRAWBACK FACILITY
1. To Produce Finished Goods for Export Market
Effective 15 April 2016, the duty exemption procedure was improved through the implementation of the duty drawback facility for the importation of steel raw materials to produce finished goods for export purposes.
2. To Produce Finished Goods for Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse (LMW) and Free Industrial Zone (FIZ)
The duty drawback facility has been extended to the importation of raw materials by PCA companies to produce finished goods for LMW/FIZ companies. The effective date for the implementation is 10 August 2017.
IMPORT DUTY EXEMPTION
The existing duty exemption policy to produce finished goods for local market remains in place for:
- grades and specifications not produced locally;
- raw materials to produce finished products which have nil duty; and
- raw materials not produced locally in Sabah and Sarawak, to directly produce finished products.
