Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) through its agency SME Corp. Malaysia, SME Bank and MIDF organized the Karnival Jom Niaga Wilayah Utara at the Amanjaya Mall Square, Sungai Petani, Kedah from 26 until 28 January 2018. The carnival was officiated by YB Dato' Sri Mustapa Mohamed, Minister of International Trade and Industry (MITI). This carnival promoted a variety of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) products and services where there were over 120 exhibition booths including food trucks available. Additionally, financial institutions and Government agencies information counters were also available to enable entrepreneurs and potential entrepreneurs to obtain information and business advisory services. The Karnival Jom Niaga Wilayah Utara was not only focusing on SMEs in Kedah but SMEs from Perlis, Penang and Perak were also involved in this carnival. The carnival attracted more than 25,000 visitors comprising SMEs and the general public in Kedah, Perlis, Penang and Perak.
