YB Liew Chin Tong, Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry launched the "Malaysian Aerospace Center of Excellence (MyAERO Center)" under the Malaysian National Aerospace Industries Corporation (NAICO Malaysia) and "AS9100 Certification by SIRIM QAS International" in conjunction with the International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition Langkawi 2023 (LIMA'23) yesterday.

Through the establishment of the MyAERO Center, NAICO Malaysia will facilitate industry collaboration in aerospace talent development, supply chain, and Research & Technology (R&T). This will act as a catalyst to further increase Malaysia's global efficiency.

SIRIM QAS International has been accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) as a Certification Body for the Aerospace QMS Scheme, and this accreditation will help local players to accelerate their AS9100 certification process.

Meanwhile, 9 exchange of documents involving MITI agencies, industry players and aerospace cluster developers focusing on TVET & professional development, R&T, local supply chain improvement, aerospace quality certification, SAF and seaplane ecosystem development to help boost the aerospace industry.

MITI and the agency will continue to support the growth of the aviation and space industry in Malaysia.
