Kuala Lumpur, November 2, 2023 - MITI had the honor of hosting a delegation from the Sri Lanka-Malaysia Business Council (SLMBC) comprised industry leaders representing diverse sectors.

The visit aimed at fostering trade, investment, and tourism connections between Malaysia and Sri Lanka.

The session started with an in-depth briefing by Mr. Muhammad Ghiyathuddin Abdul Halim and Ms. Siti Norashikin Mat Takir from the Bilateral Economic & Trade Relations Division, MITI, explaining the roles and policies of MITI in the economic landscape.

Additionally, Mr. Syed Zahirulddin Syed Ali from MATRADE discussed Malaysia's trade performance and the agency's role in supporting local exporters.

The interactive session saw an exchange of insights, with participants actively engaging in a Q&A segment, aiming to grasp a comprehensive understanding of potential trade and investment opportunities between Malaysia and Sri Lanka.
