MATRADE kicked off the first of its series of Briefing and Consultation session on the 13 th of January 2010 at Menara MATRADE, Kuala Lumpur. The session was officiated by YB Dato' Mukhriz Tun Mahathir, Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry. The Briefing and Consultation programme was aimed at creating awareness and disseminating the latest information on MATRADE's services and trade promotion activities for 2010.

In his speech, Dato' Mukhriz urged Malaysian companies to continuously upgrade their products and services in order to find markets overseas. He also encouraged Malaysian companies to be sufficiently equipped with the knowledge, aptitude and skills in order to remain competitive and relevant in the business world.

A total of 623 participants from 429 companies including government agencies, local chambers and associations attended this briefing. For the one-on-one consultation sessions held in the afternoon, a total of 123 trade enquiries were received.
