KUALA LUMPUR, March 26 (Bernama) -- The Invest Malaysia 2010 conference is expected to attract over 600 participants, judging from the positive response from institutional investors, fund managers and analysts globally. To-date, 170 local and foreign investment institutions had shown interest in attending the conference, Bursa Malaysia said in a joint statement with co-hosts, Maybank Investment Bank and Nomura Holdings, here on Friday.

"The conference, themed 'Powering Global Excellence', offers an opportunity for access to key personalities who have contributed to the country's success story," it said.

The highlight of the conference is a keynote address by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, it said.

It said three plenary sessions would feature government leaders as well as captains of industries in thought-provoking discussions.

"A session that delegates can look forward to is the 'Government Transformation Programme: Social Engineering to Achieve Vision 2020' by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Datuk Seri Idris Jala.

"He will provide a snapshot of the roadmap and progress of the transformation programme," it said.

National Economic Advisory Council chairman, Tan Sri Amirsham A. Aziz, is expected to give a special address on the New Economic Model.

The conference will see the participation of Malaysian Industrial Development Authority. Intrnational Trade and Industry Minister, Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, is also expected to give a talk.
