Effective 1 August 2015, the importation of tinplate (HS 7210.12.200) will be subjected to Certificate of Approval (CoA). This requirement was gazetted under the Customs (Prohibition of Imports) (Amendment) (No.2) Order 2014 on 25 June 2014.

The imposition of CoA on this product is to ensure that imported materials meet established quality and safety requirements. The new requirement was made in consultation with the industry.

Importers of tinplate (HS 7210.12.200) will need to apply for CoA from SIRIM QAS International Sdn. Bhd. For further information on the application procedures, please contact:
