Functions

ENVIRONMENTAL UNIT

  1. Developing and reviewing a framework for environmental elements within the i-ESG Framework for the manufacturing sector, including:

    • Renewable energy;

    • Climate change risks;

    • Biodiversity loss;

    • Deforestation; dan

    • Greenhouse gas

  2. Increasing industry awareness and coordinating environmental issues for sustainable development.

  3. Supervising and monitoring the implementation of policies and guidelines for the halal industry development in Malaysia.

  4. Coordinating the implementation of the Bumiputera Empowerment Agenda.

  5. Reviewing, developing, and monitoring the implementation of the National Remanufacturing Policy (NRP).

SOCIAL UNIT

  1. Developing and reviewing a framework for social elements within the i-ESG Framework for the manufacturing sector, including:

    • Employees’ welfare;

    • Work environment;

    • Occupational safety and health;

    • Recruitment of foreign workers;

    • Forced labour and child labour;

    • Diversity and workplace relations;

    • Training and recognition; and

    • Local communities.

  2. Reviewing existing and new policies related to the social element within the manufacturing sector. 

  3. Regulating and coordinating the entry of foreign workers in the manufacturing sector through:

    • Employer interviews at the centre; and

    • One-Stop Audit.

  4. Reviewing the employment conditions of local workers in Manufacturing Licenses through research and stakeholder engagement sessions.

GOVERNANCE UNIT

  1. Developing and reviewing a framework for governance elements within the i-ESG Framework for the manufacturing sector, including:

    • Corruption and bribery;

    • Regulatory policies;

    • Board structure and diversity;

    • Executive compensation;

    • Standards and ethics; dan

    • Whistle-blower programmes

  2. Regulating and coordinating the entry of expatriates for the manufacturing sector through:

    • Expatriate entry consideration meetings;

    • Employer interviews; and

    • Audits.

  3. Enhancing the local skilled workforce for the manufacturing sector through:

    • Coordination policies on human resource development, skills and training;

    • Coordination of reskilling & upskilling programmes; and

    • Participation in studies related to the labour market, humancapital and skills

ADMINISTRATION UNIT

General office management, including daily administration, financial affairs, documentation and file management.
