Functions

To promote international trade and safeguard Malaysia’s interests in accordance with the national policy on foreign trade (except for ASEAN countries) through:

1. Coordination of bilateral economic issues particularly trade and investment between Malaysia and foreign countries;

2. Preparation and implementation of Trade and Investment Missions; 

3. Coordination of visits from Leaders, Ministers, Senior Officers, Business associations and private entities upon the Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Secretary General and Deputy Secretary Generals; 

4. Preparation of inputs for official visits by SPB YDP Agong/Prime Minister/Deputy Prime Minister to foreign countries;

5. Preparation of Country Briefs and related documents for countries with economic ties with Malaysia;

6. Coordination of cooperation activities with Foreign Missions in Malaysia; and

7. Coordination and Preparation of feedback regarding the registration of MoUs and bilateral trade agreements.
