Functions

1. Coordinating Malaysia’s preparation for each Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations.

2. Provide insights and advice to the Government when making policy decisions on issues related to FTAs.

3. Obtain feedback from various stakeholders and analyse the information in order to ensure consistency in Malaysia’s position in each FTA.

4. Focal point for Malaysia’s FTAs and cooperates with relevant coordinators and negotiators for any follow-up action.

5. Conduct FTA outreach sessions and disseminate information to various stakeholders on the outcome of negotiations.

6. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to monitor the impact of implementing Malaysia's commitment in any FTA.

7. Monitor FTA implementation and progress of other trading partners to ensure Malaysia continues to benefit in fair trade.
