In response to the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), the Industry4WRD: National Policy on Industry 4.0 was launched on 31 October 2018 to drive digital transformation of the manufacturing and related services sectors in Malaysia. The Policy’s framework is as follows:
Kindly be informed that the current Industry4WRD Readiness Assessment Programme (government-funded and self-funded) has been discontinued effective on 1 January 2024.
Under Mission 2: Tech Up for a Digitally Vibrant Nation under the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030), a new programme will be implemented to promote the adoption of Industry 4.0 technology for companies in the manufacturing and manufacturing-related services (MRS) sector.
The Industry4WRD Intervention Fund is a financial support facility for Malaysian Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the manufacturing and related services sectors which have completed the government-funded Industry4WRD Readiness Assessment (RA) programme to embrace Industry 4.0.
The Fund will be provided on a matching basis (70:30) based on eligible expenditure, up to a maximum grant of Ringgit Malaysia Five Hundred Thousand (RM500,000.00) only to support companies in implementing intervention projects based on the recommendation of Industry4WRD RA Report on the shift factors of people, process and technology.
Maximum 30% of the matching amount (70% of total grant) will be provided upfront to the companies subject to the approval by Intervention Fund Approval Committee at MITI, whereby the balance of the remaining grant will be on reimbursable basis.
