- Requirement
All importations of new batteries for motor vehicles must obtain a No Objection Letter (NOL) from MITI.
This applies until the ePermit system is fully implemented.
Currently, the NOL is issued without requiring a product certification license from SIRIM.
- Documents Needed
Please email the following documents to apbesi@miti.gov.my:
- Tariff Code Confirmation Letter from the Royal Malaysian Customs Department;
- Application Letter stating the purpose of import;
- Product Catalogue;
- Invoice (showing quantity, brand, price, importer’s name, etc.);
- UN38.3 Certification; and
- Battery Testing Report.
- Processing Time
The NOL will be processed within five (5) working days, excluding the date of submission, if all documents are complete.
