Approved Permit > Standard Operating Procedure for Battery Importation

  1. Requirement

                All importations of all kinds of new reusable batteries (accumulators) for motor vehicles under headings
                87.01, 87.02, 87.03, 87.04, 87.05, 87.09 and 87.11 must obtain an Approved Permit (AP) from MITI,
                effective 1 January 2026 through ePermit application system to replace the previous manual issuance
                of No Objection Letters for the same purpose. 

 

  1. Documents Needed
  1. Classification Letter from Customs;
  2. Application Letter;
  3. Product Catalogue;
  4. Invoice;
  5. Technical Evaluation Report (TER)

                        *(Note: The TER shall comprise UN 38.3, UN R100 (four tyres) or UN R136 (two tyres),
                        as applicable, together with the relevant IEC Test Report)

 

  1. Processing Time

The AP will be processed within five (5) working days, excluding the date of submission, provided that all documents are complete.
