KUALA LUMPUR, July 3 (Bernama) — Local companies are encouraged to explore and expand their knowledge in digital technology to boost the sales of their products locally as well as overseas.
Senior director of strategic planning division, Malaysia External Trade Development Corp (Matrade), Susila Devi, said mobile devices had become critical parts of the marketing mix as they offered unparalleled means to connect with consumers.
“This will help boost participation and offer a greater level of interactivity on top of other less-interactive traditional media.
“In exports, things are getting competitive and we can no longer keep doing them the old ways. The speed of technology is so fast and so dynamic nowadays,” she told Bernama here Wednesday.
Although Malaysia continued to be counted among the top 25 trading nations in the world, it did not mean that it could rest on its laurels and expected things as before, she said.
Susila said this at the 9th Malaysian Media Conference.
The one-day conference, themed ‘Breaking the Mould’, is organised under the auspices of Matrade and the International Advertising Association.
It is a leading regional business forum that covers the latest in media, marketing and digital trends.
