Cement Industry To See Reasonable Growth - Mustapa

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 21 (Bernama) — The cement industry is expected to see reasonable growth in the next two to three years on the support from the major government infrastructure development projects.

Minister of International Trade and Industry, Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, said the construction sector recorded between five and six per cent growth for the past few years.

“Although demand for high-end residential units had softened, the government is continuously pushing to spur construction in the form of affordable housing, the Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development and Mass Rapid Transit projects, among others,” he told reporters at the 50th Anniversary of Cement and Concrete Association (C&CA) here Wednesday.

He said these projects were the major consumers of cement.

Mustapa said the prospects of the industry would continue to be good for cement and construction sector as a whole.

Malaysia-China Trade To Rise To US$110 Billion In 2015, Says Matrade

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 12 (Bernama) — Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) expects total trade between Malaysia and China to increase to US$110 billion (US$1 = RM4.17) this year from US$102 billion last year.

Matrade Chief Executive Officer Datuk Dzulkifli Mahmud said the increase would be driven by a commitment made by both nations to increase two-way trade to US$160 billion by 2017.

“Despite the current economic challenges, China remains our important trading partner whereby during the first eight months of this year, our trade with China increased 9.6 per cent to RM147.55 billion.

“Our exports to China rose 9.3 per cent to RM65.17 billion while imports rose 9.8 per cent to RM82.18 billion,” he told a press conference after officiating the “Leveraging on Renminbi to Enhance Exports to China” seminar here Monday.

The half-day seminar was organised by Matrade as part of its effort to encourage local companies to use renminbi in their trade with China...

Malaysia Sasar Eksport Lebih Banyak Produk Pertanian Ke Turki

KUALA LUMPUR: Perbadanan Pembangunan Perdagangan Luar Malaysia (Matrade) menyasarkan untuk meningkat eksport barangan pertanian ke Turki tahun ini, diperkukuh oleh permintaan yang semakin meningkat ke atas buah-buahan tropika di negara itu.

Pesuruhjaya Perdagangan Matrade di Istanbul Idzham Abd Hamid berkata buah-buahan tropika seperti nanas, belimbing dan buah naga, mendapat permintaan tinggi di Turki.

Istanbul kini mengimport sebagaian besar buah-buahan tropika dari Belanda.

“Kita patut merebut peluang untuk mengeksport (lebih banyak) buah-buahan tropika kita ke negara itu,” katanya kepada pemberita di uar seminar Perjanjian Perdagangan Bebas (FTA) Malaysia-Turki, di sini, Rabu.

 

Eksport utama Malaysia ke Turki bagi tempoh Januari hingga Julai 2015 terdiri daripada barangan pertanian, dengan dagangan bagi segmen itu bernilai  RM386 juta, diikuti barangan pembuatan (RM1.2 bilion) dan barangan perlombongan  (RM3.3 juta).

KUALA LUMPUR, July 3 (Bernama) — Local companies are encouraged to explore and expand their knowledge in digital technology to boost the sales of their products locally as well as overseas. Perbadanan Pembangunan Perdagangan Luar Malaysia (MATRADE) menganjurkan persidangan Media Malaysia (MMC) 2013 bagi memperkasa peserta industri media dan pengiklanan tempatan untuk mengeksport perkhidmatan mereka di peringkat global. Dianjurkan dengan kerjasama Persatuan Pengiklan Antarabangsa (IAA) Malaysia, persidangan sehari itu menyaksikan penyertaan kira-kira 350 syarikat media, agensi dan syarikat pengiklanan tempatan. SMEs Can Be Multi-nationals With Right Product Strategy, Says Matrade

KUALA LUMPUR, July 9 (Bernama) — Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) can become multi-national companies (MNCs) in the future if they implement the right strategies to brand their products and services, according to the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade). “With good and proper branding, SMEs can penetrate the market and compete with large players in the industry,” Matrade senior director exporters development division Datuk Dzukifli Mahmud said at the soft launch today of the Brand Entrepreneurs Conference 2013 to be held here on Aug 29. Showcase in Cambodia rakes in RM63.66m export sales

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian exhibitors raked in RM63.66 million in sales and projects during the 4th Showcase Malaysia Cambodia in Phnom Penh last month. In a statement yesterday, the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) said the export sales were reported by the 30 participating companies, services providers, government agencies and organisations, in the three-day event, which attracted more than 20,000 visitors. Matrade pre-arranged 737 business meetings for Malaysian exhibitors with Cambodian importers, agents, distributors and partners during the event. “Sales were reported for household appliances and accessories, automotive batteries, LED lighting, frozen food, grease and lubricants. “Malaysian services providers also negotiated potential franchise businesses, 3D animation and rendering services and CCTV products,” the agency said. Matrade Promotes Malaysian Services At Inaugural Fair In Tatarstan

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 1 (Bernama) — In a move to promote Malaysian services, 30 companies with 56 representatives under five clusters will be participating at the inaugural Malaysia Services Exhibition (MSE) 2013 in Kazan, Tatarstan this month. KUALA LUMPUR 12 Feb. - Syarikat-syarikat Malaysia yang menyertai pameran penjagaan kesihatan Arab Health 2014, telah berjaya menjana jualan sebanyak RM215.3 juta. Pameran tersebut berlangsung selama empat hari bermula 27 Januari lalu di Pusat Pameran Antarabangsa Dubai, Emiriyah Arab Bersatu (UAE). Arab Health 2014 merupakan pameran penjagaan kesihatan terbesar di Asia Barat dengan menyaksikan penyertaan sebanyak 32 syarikat dari Malaysia.
