Kerajaan hari ini mengumumkan enam program berimpak tinggi sebagai satu langkah untuk memastikan sektor perusahaan kecil dan sederhana (PKS) mampu berkembang sebanyak 8.7 peratus setahun menjelang tahun 2020 berbanding pada masa ini sekitar 6.5 peratus setahun.
Enam program impak tinggi adalah:
- Integrasi Pendaftaran dan Pelesenan Penubuhan Perniagaan untuk mewujudkan pusat pendaftaran tunggal melalui Sistem Pendaftaran Perniagaan (MyCoID) dan Sistem Pelesenan Perniagaan (BLESS).
- Platform Pengkomersialan Teknologi (TCP) iaitu sebuah rangkaian platform kebangsaan yang diuruskan sektor swasta bagi mempromosi idea inovatif bermula peringkat pembuktian konsep ke peringkat pengkomersialan.
- Program Pelaburan PKS (SIP) yang menyediakan pembiayaan kewangan peringkat awal dan disalur melalui syarikat pelaburan kepada PKS berpotensi sama ada dalam bentuk hutang, ekuiti atau hibrid.

Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed Minister of International Trade and Industry Strong FDI Performance for the First Nine Months of 20111. Malaysia’s Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) for the first nine months of 2011 was recorded at RM26.4 billion compared with RM18.6 billion for the same period in 2010 indicating a 42 per cent growth. This is based on the latest figure released by the Department of Statistics, Malaysia (DOSM). For the record, total FDI for the whole of last year was RM29.3 billion, while in 2009, total FDI was RM5.0 billion.
2. Based on the FDI flows for the first nine months, it is likely that this year’s total FDI will exceed last year’s figure.

The 16th Malaysia-Australia Joint Trade Committee (JTC) Meeting was held in Kuala Lumpur on 31 January 2012. The JTC Meeting was co-chaired by the Hon. Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed, Malaysia’s Minister of International Trade and Industry, and the Hon. Dr. Craig Emerson MP, Minister for Trade Australia. Members of the Malaysia-Australia Business Council (MABC) and the Australia Malaysia Business Council (AMBC) also attended the meeting.
The 16th JTC meeting discussed a number of issues ranging from Australia’s food labelling legislation, logging regulation and investment issues related to mining and resource processing as well as financial services. Rangka lawatan selama dua hari yang bermula pada 8 April hingga 9 April 2012 ini merupakan usaha MITI untuk memperkukuhkan jaringan perniagaan PKS tempatan dengan pengusaha dan persatuan-persatuan perniagaan Jawa Timur.
